Is my donation tax deductible?

Whether or not the donation is tax deductible depends on the organization to which you donate. An organization must be an IRS qualified 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization. Taxpayers can make certain that they have donated their vehicle to an eligible organization by calling IRS Tax Exempt /Government Entities Customer Service at 1-877-829-5500 or go here and download Publication 78 which is a list of all IRS recognized charitable organizations.
What do I need to provide to the charity?

Ideally, you will be able to provide the title. If you don't have the title other arrangements may be able to be made.
My car doesn't run can I still donate it?

Yes, most vehicles are accepted, running or not (exceptions include older vehicles whose value would not offset the cost of towing).
How will the car be picked up?

Usually the charity will arrange to have the vehicle towed.
What percentage of the proceeds from my car donation will go to the charity?
