Good questions when:

Purchasing Land

• Why are you selling the property?
• Has the property been surveyed?
• On what kind of road is the property located?

• Is there access from the road to the property?

• Is the property serviced by public water?

• If not, has the feasibility of installing a private well system been explored?

• Is the property serviced by public sewage?

• If not, has the feasibility of installing a private septic system been explored? This feasibility will include a positive "perc" test which indicates that the property is suitable for a septic system.

• What are the zoning and/or deed restrictions on the property?
• Does this specific piece of land have a deed or are you selling off a chunk of a larger parcel?
• Is the title to the property clear?

• Better to know now about issues that may arise upon completion of a title search.

• How much are the taxes?
